Who we are
Examva is an independent revision platform operated by Examva Technologies (Private) Limited. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by AQA.
Our aim is to make demanding GCSE science ideas easier to revise without losing the precision students need in an exam. The Examva Editorial Team is responsible for the public notes and study guides published on this site.
How a topic is built
We start with the relevant AQA GCSE specification documents and map each topic to the knowledge, equations, practical skills and tier or course-route restrictions students may be assessed on. Our notes, examples and practice prompts are then written as original Examva material rather than copied from past papers or mark schemes.
Before a topic is released, our review checks include:
- scientific facts, terminology, equations and units;
- Foundation, Higher, Combined and Separate Science boundaries;
- required-practical methods, variables, safety and conclusions;
- worked-example calculations and the clarity of each explanation;
- copyright, accessibility and whether the final page is useful to a student.
Illustrations and AI-assisted tools
Visuals are part of how Examva explains science. We use digital design tools and, when an original illustration is needed, may use the image-generation workflow built into Codex. AI-assisted output is never treated as a finished educational source: every published diagram or image must be checked for scientific accuracy, labels, legibility, accessibility and copyright risk.
Reviews, updates and corrections
Approved content is tied to a reviewed release so later source or curriculum changes can be checked deliberately. We update material when a specification, calculation, diagram or explanation needs a meaningful correction. Cosmetic edits alone are not presented as a fresh editorial review.

Using Examva alongside official information
Examva is a revision aid, not the exam board. Students and teachers should use the current specification, exam-board notices and school guidance as the final authority for course entry, assessment dates and qualification rules.
